Quinta Fay

Quinta Fay, in the Spanish Colonial Revival Style, was the creation of Fay Truitt McBride in the 1940s. She and her husband travelled in Mexico and brought back tiles and artefacts, as well as searching out tiles in California and and recycling bricks from defunct factories, making their home a labour of love. Before building, they cultivated walnut trees (Juglans regia) on the property. After Fay McBride's death at the age of 100, Quinta Fay was acquired by Lenore and Peter Raffo, whose daughter, Lolly Raffo, has created a garden of drought-tolerant plants in complete harmony with the house.
