Young Vines – the games we play in our vineyard

Photographs to illustrate the article published in The Mediterranean Garden No 86, October 2016.

Natalia Kokotou writes: “Having grown up in the vineyard, I knew what an ideal childhood setting it was. So last summer my husband and I left downtown Athens behind and moved back with our two young children. Inspired by the learning potential in the day-to-day activities of the estate and the culture of outdoor education, we set up a playgroup for pre-school children. Our first gatherings took place in the dead of winter but, despite the cold, the group grew and soon became an integral part of the winery’s life.”

Soon the children were helping out.
