Edibles to grow in a mediterranean-climate garden:
Hints on how to cultivate some out-of-the-ordinary fruits and vegetables and ways to eat them

This section was inspired by the MGS forum. Forum member John J or John Joynes, Cyprus Branch Head and MGS Vice President, as we also know him, recently began a thread on the Forum entitled Fruit/Veg of the Day. Forum members recommend fruit, vegetables and herbs they have grown and discuss their cultivation. Many of them are rather unusual which raised the question of how they should be eaten and/or used in the kitchen. As more advice and recipes become available more links will be added.

Citrus fruits
Limequat, a hybrid between key lime and kumquat
Bergamot, Citrus bergamia

Mediterranean hedgerow fruits
Azarole, Crataegus azarolus

Vegetables
Marrow, Cucurbita pepo
Sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas
